Children's Documentary Series Little Beasts: Seahorse
We welcome you to listen to the radio documentaries about the adventures of the animal world! The seahorse is an expert at hiding. It loves to disappear into underwater meadows of seaweed. It really is a strange fish. Its head resembles that of a horse, hence its name. It has a long tail which it uses to cling to sea plants like a monkey. Its body is covered with bony plates so that it looks a bit like a dragon. After listening to the children’s documentary Seahorse, which is part of the Little Beasts series, there will be a discussion with the makers and visitors. The documentary series Little Beasts (Bestioles) is a co-production with Radio France.

Goran Vojnović: The Dramaturgy of Podcasts
This year, the biographical podcast Goran received an outstanding response from listeners. The story of the golden captain Dragić was written and narrated by Goran Vojnović. As far as Slovenian podcasts go, which are mostly interview- or conversation-based, Goran offers a refreshing change. What were the key factors in making it? How should the story be structured? And just how important is language?

Would Jesus Have a Podcast?
If Jesus were alive today, would he avoid social networks and virtual platforms, or would he be active online, exactly because he wouldn't want to appear too stuck-up? Would he "get his hands dirty" with jovial virtual announcements, or would all kinds of information about him only be shared by his flocking fans? A discussion with guests about spirituality and new media in the 21st century.
Priest and vlogger Martin Golob, friar and writer Branko Cestnik; journalist Lojze Grčman, Aleteia; radio presenter Jure Sešek, Radio Ognjišče; host Aleksander Čobec.

Challenges of Using Immersive Technologies in the Media
The development of extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies offers the media the opportunity to transform digital co-creation, interaction and collaboration. The aim is to inspire a new era of storytelling and promote cultural participation and inclusion. Part of this change is the TRANSMIXR project, funded by the EU Horizon programme, which uses human-centric tools for remote production and content creation through social virtual reality in the fields of cultural heritage, performing arts and media news production and distribution. How will the development of new technologies affect content creation workflows, formats and practices in the media? How will it influence the creation and delivery of diverse and in-depth stories? Collaboration between tech partners, universities, media, arts and cultural institutions could be the right answer to enable more in-depth interactive experiences for the individual. The discussion will be held in English.
Host: Maja Ratej, guests: Niall Murray, Technological University of the Shannon and coordinator of the Transmixr project, Ireland, Marie Hospital, AFP, France, Manica J. Ambrožič, RTV SLO, Klemen Pečnik, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Multimedia Laboratory, Trevor Ó Clochartaigh, TG4, Ireland.

We will talk to musicians, producers and editors to reveal the key elements of this process. We will also look into how a hit is made, the role artificial intelligence will play, the importance of traditional media today, whether music editors are a dying breed and how to successfully engage a highly segmented audience with music.

Audio, radio, goodbye?
IOn the one hand, there is excitement about the boom of audio content and the flood of podcasts; on the other, it claims that – as we have often heard in the past – radio as a medium is facing tough times. Yet, the public still trusts radio more than any other medium, and there are signs that linear radio is coming back. So, where does radio stand? Where will audio media content develop? What is the future of radio programs, and what can we expect from the public? How well do we know what listeners want to hear? Do they want to see the audio content as well? Is audio content the best solution to get children off screens?
Guests: Andraž Zorko, director of Valicon; Andrej Vodušek, program director of Infonet Media; and Igor Vobič, professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The discussion will be moderated by Mirko Štular, director of Radio Slovenija.
14.00
Live Radio, The Never-Ending Story
Slovenian radio programmes are flourishing. There is no shortage of listeners and new radio programme formats have been established over the last decade. Radio professionals are familiar with the digital environment and artificial intelligence is no stranger to them. The rapidly changing global media environment, the (lack of) reach to young people, the development of auto-mobile devices and other factors require constant development and adaptation. Nevertheless, it is a fact that Slovenian radio broadcasters continue to successfully engage different segments of the public. How do they do it? What are the benefits of live radio broadcasting? These questions will be discussed with some of the most prominent radio personalities.
15.00
Slavic Soundwalk
Seventy-five writers from Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia have exclusively created brand-new short stories which can only be heard while walking through Ljubljana, Zagreb, or Belgrade. Slavic Soundwalking invites you to put on your headphones, step outside, and discover carefully selected paths where literature intertwines with urban sounds.
The following creators will share their experiences with the Slavic Soundwalking project: Jelena Remetin, app creator, visual artist, and head of the art organisation YELO from Zagreb; Saša Tabaković, film and theatre actor; Suzana Tratnik, editor, writer, and translator; and Biljana Žikić, radio journalist (Prvi program Radia Slovenija, Radio Študent) and head of the Danilo Kiš Cultural Center. After the conversation, they will take you on a sound walk through the streets of Ljubljana.
The Danilo Kiš Cultural Centre, in cooperation with the Audiofestival, organises the event as part of the Slavic Soundwalking project, which is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union and supported by the Ministry of Public Administration of Slovenia.

Radio Play: One-Way Ticket
Premiere of the theatre-radio play and talk with its creators
Through multi-layered, stiflingly bittersweet stories of two friends, we enter a world of lost dreams, wounded youth, repressed memories and horrors of war. The story unfolds like a pilgrimage between two cities, Amsterdam and Sarajevo, symbolising the dialogue between two friends. It takes place in times of peace, after Sarajevo’s occupation, and later, after the horrors of war in Sarajevo have passed. Yet, through all these hidden traumas, the light of love for parents, homeland, hometown, and a boundless, sincere friendship continually shines through. The subtle thread of their conversations reveals the life of Ismir, torn between the love for his homeland and self-preservation. As the stories of other characters unfold, the contours of his phobias, which he must confront, gradually emerge. In its brief glimmers, hope, human warmth, and kindness emerge – helping Ismir break free from his cursed dreams and reconcile with the war. Yet, true peace for himself and his buried fears can only be found in the city of his childhood, the place he was forced to leave behind.
The conversation is hosted by Luka Hvalc, guests: Ismir Hero, Nik Teunissen

Developed in Denmark, Hindenburg was among the first to be tested by journalists at the local public broadcaster DR. Designed with radio journalists and podcast producers in mind, the software handles all key sound processing in the background, allowing the journalist to focus entirely on crafting the story. Nick Dunkerley will walk you through the Hindenburg workflow, sharing plenty of tips and tricks for faster work and achieving the best possible final result.

10 Stories – Travelling Radio Workshop
Rob Rosenthal is, according to Ira Glass, "probably the best radio mentor in the United States". For this reason, we have invited him to Slovenia for the third time, and this time, for more than a week, we moved the radio centre of the universe to Kranjska Gora. As we hear in Rob's Sound School Podcast (formerly How Sound), the radio centre of the universe is actually in Woods Hole, on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, USA. For many years, the Transom radio workshops were held there. Inspired by these week-long workshops, we have once again organised something similar in Slovenia. In the week leading up to Audiofestival, radio journalists will be sharpening their storytelling skills, producing ten carefully crafted stories. This workshop not only shapes a journalist's career but also leaves a lasting impact on the listeners who attend the final evening.
We will listen to the best storytelling. The quality of the work was recognised this spring at the European Broadcasting Union's Audio Storytelling Festival, where one of the five best stories selected was by Neža Borkovič, a participant in last year's workshop.
18.00
Does a Podcast Need an Editor?
Podcasts have become ubiquitous, and anyone can publish one. Some, unexpectedly, and others by design, achieve unprecedented influence over specific segments of society. If ethical and professional standards apply to podcasts produced by traditional media, should the same standards apply to all creators? Are podcasters aware of their responsibilities? And should every podcast have an editor?
Host: Gašper Andrinek, journalist at Val 202 and president of the Slovenian Association of Journalists; guests: Ines Pusovnik, entrepreneur and author of the podcast Svoja Srečka, and others ...
19.00
The Art of the Possible
Politics is the art of the possible – an age-old rule not limited to the Western democratic world. But the rules are changing, the old order is crumbling, and populism and political extremism are on the rise. What can we do as citizens? To start with, we must understand political processes, analyse them and anticipate their consequences. Political journalists, commentators, analysts and researchers can help with this. In this special edition of The Art of the Possible podcast, we uncover the hidden realities that politicians often try to conceal. The discussion with guests Suzana Lovec (N1,) Suzana Kos (Delo), and Blaž Petkovič (Večer) will be led by Tanja Starič and Aleš Kocjan.
